"That Sneaky Magician Guy"

Magic, Right Under Your Nose

This is for the times when a loosely structured performance is desired. It's suitable for company picnics, cocktail hours, happy hours, hospitality rooms, etc. The repertoire is so vast that I've been known to perform for over an hour, without repeating a trick. This can be performed in conjunction with one of my standup shows.

I cause a finger ring to be trapped on a string, while someone holds the ends. I then make it come free of the string, despite the fact that the ring and string are examined by the audience and the ends are being held. The finale even makes magicians take notice, when a knot magically appears, holding the ring on the center of the string!

I have an audience member peek at any playing card in the middle of the deck, eliminating any possibility that I could see the card. The deck is immediately shuffled by them. When I take the deck back, I ask them if they're satisfied that the seven of clubs is lost in the deck, proving that the shuffling was in vain. I have someone else peek at another card and shuffle the deck. I take a card from the deck, but it's not the card that he peeked at. I look at the card, trying to figure out what went wrong. When I turn it back around, it has changed to their card. I then make it even harder for myself, when I find a card that they merely thought of!

I bring out a couple of sponge rabbits. They're my "low-maintenance" rabbits. The comedy begins when I get Peter Rabbit confused with his wife, Gladys. I then hand Gladys to one of the members of the audience. Peter disappears from my hand and appears with Gladys, in the spectator's hand! Obviously, they were interrupted when she opened her hand. I place the two rabbits on someone's hand. She says the magic words and feels something growing in her hand. When she opens her hand, Peter and Gladys jump out, along with several baby rabbits! I tell her she might want to wipe off her hand.
